Feb. 20: LMWG meeting Feb. 21: Joint LMWG/BGCWG meeting Feb. 22: BGCWG meeting If you plan to attend the meeting please do the following by WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23. 1) Send an email to Barbara Ballard (bballard at ucar.edu) and let her know that you are coming. 2) If you would like to give a presentation, please send a message to Dave Lawrence (dlawren at ucar.edu) and/or Gordon Bonan (bonan at ucar.edu) with a brief description of the topic. 3) If you have suggestions for additional agenda items (see proposed agenda items below) or other suggestions for the meeting, please send them to Dave Lawrence or Gordon Bonan. Preliminary agenda items: LMWG - review progress and finalize plans for CLM4; fine mesh development and applications; Community Snow project; Soil moisture variability LMWG/BGCWG - discussion of priorities for the next generation Earth System Model; plans for the DGVM BGCWG - CLAMP-1 (review of metrics and diagnostics, update on manuscript); pending release of CLM3.5-CN (review of control run, update on technical note); update on fully coupled carbon/climate simulations; ocean biogeochemistry; global observations and analysis (e.g., HIPPO); initialization of CLAMP-2 As always, we are interested in hearing from people who are developing or using CLM or are working on CCSM biogeochemistry. We are particularly interested in LWMG/BGCWG member input related to the improvement and application of the fine mesh (high-resolution) version of CLM and in model applications for the next generation earth system model. The meeting will take place in Boulder at the NCAR Mesa Lab. A list of local hotels that generally offer good rates to NCAR visitors can be found at http://www.ccsm.ucar.edu/working_groups/BoulderHotels.html SEND YOUR COMMENTS, PROPOSED TALKS AND OTHER SUGGESTIONS BY WEDNESDAY, 23 JANUARY.
