New experiments are needed to compete for a substantial increase in available computing resources over the 6 month period 1 May 2007 -- 31 October 2007. The ADDITIONAL resources amount to 15 kGAUS per month Development (in addition to current 7.5 kGAUs), and 18kGAUS per month Production (in addition to current 11 kGAUs). The attached timing numbers serve as a guide to converting these GAUs in model years. We need a description of the additional experiments to be run during the 6 months, their relationship to the existing OMWG project, the years to be run (and GAUs or I can work that out). Everything needs to be back first thing Friday AM March 9, as the full proposal needs to be compiled and submitted by the end of the day. NB: The Lion's share of the new production will go to BGC for spinning up the carbon cycle. Therefore, we do not need to include pre-industrial spin-ups in our "experiments". As an example (ONLY) that would take 1 month of the NEW Production allocation. Description : Ocean-ice coupled CORE runs with 60 level x1 ocean and CICE4.0. The experiment will be 3 repeat hidcast cycles 1950 - 2004. PRODUCTION RUN. Relationship : Extension from CORE experiments with 40 level x1 ocean and CSIM, plus additional physics developments in both components.
