1. Upcoming CCSM Meetings:
- CCSM Scientific Steering Committee meeting at NCAR on Monday and
Tuesday, 18 and 19 November 2002.
- CCSM Advisory Board meeting in Washington, DC at NSF on Tuesday and
Wednesday, 28 and 29 January 2003.
- CCSM Biogeochemistry Working Group meeting is scheduled for 25 and 26
March 2003 at Berkeley.
- Other working group meetings are being planned but definite dates have
not been decided yet, i.e., Software Engineering (late Jan/early Feb),
Polar Climate (week of 20 Jan), joint Atmosphere Model and Climate
Variability Working Groups (week of 3 March). Ocean, Paleoclimate, and
Land Working Group plans are being discussed.
2. The annual CCSM workshop will be held at The Village at Breckenridge
from 24 to 26 June 2003. Information will be sent to this alias list
soon. There will be a poster session this year also. Speakers for this
year’s workshop are Susan Solomon (IPCC), Thomas Stocker (thermohaline
circulation), Jon Overpeck (what paleoclimate records can tell us about
climate sensitivity), and Peter Rayner (modeling the carbon cycle).
