One topic will to assess the Blueice validation run, b31.011. If anyone wants to present other results, please contact me, Cheers, Peter. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2007 10:34:22 -0700 (MST) From: David Bailey I have put the ice diagnostics for years 51-70 of b31.011 vs b31.002 at: http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/oce/dbailey/coupled/ice.html Gokhan also has the ocean diagnostics for these same years. We are very concerned about big differences in the Labrador Sea. For some reason, the b31.011 actually looks better than b31.002. We need to verify that these are indeed the same code. If they are, then perhaps we should run the perturbation experiment (b31.002p) out longer. As you might guess, this didn't go so well. So, to avoid a lot of craziness and stress from having a bunch of unexpected participants from somebody else's meeting during your conference calls, here's what we're going to do from now... Any time you would like to have a CCSM conference call, please e-mail me with the date and (briefly) the purpose of the call/name of the meeting and an account key if your call is for a non-core funded project. I'll reply to you right away with the call-in procedure for your guests and instructions for you to initiate the call. From here on out, please do not save the instructions and use them whenever--that's just asking for another problem like the one we had today. Each time you have a CCSM conference call, just ask me and I'll mark it on my calendar so we can avoid overlap. If you have a large meeting with a lot of people listening via conference call but not participating in a discussion, let's investigate using webcasting technology to transmit the audio without racking up a large phone bill. There are also conference call options available where each caller pays their own phone charges if you have a meeting where this is appropriate. Thanks, Emily -- Emily Doremire NCAR CGD CCSM P.O.
