[Liwg-core] [Cesm2control] Current simulation: impact of ocn/ice initialization

Hi J-F,

A quick update on the Greenland front - no big issues in these simulations. Find some numbers in attachment.

An important notice for the spinup: to compensate for the unrealistic buildup of snow in the high Arctic in the offline CLM (driven by GSWP), we will require a ‘reset' of the CLM snow height in the beginning of the coupled PI spinup. We will convene tomorrow with the LIWG to determine the exact procedure, but we have strong evidence that this step is of vital importance for a realistic Greenland simulation, and we don’t think it will significantly affect the coupled simulation. We will be in touch on this later this week.

For the run starting ocn/ice/atm from MP3, we should use 134.
134 doesn't use the same version of the land but it is as close as we can get if we want to look at a run starting from MP3 for ocn/ice/atm .

I've generated the ice diagnostics for 141 and 142 versus 140. I misunderstood the differences. I am now rerunning versus 136. What is interesting is that both 141 and 142 are thinner in the central Arctic compared to 140. 142 is slightly thicker. I assume this is related to the ice initialization.
